Client
KFC is one of New Zealand’s leading quick-service restaurant brands.
Problem
KFC 6 & Shout already had a proven cricket game, but the next innings had to do more than look new. It needed fresh ways to play and bigger reward moments without turning every idea into another round of animation production.
Strategic framing
Get KFC customers and cricket fans who enjoy quick, rewarding play to return to 6 & Shout, by evolving the proven game with fresh modes, clearer reward moments and reusable design and animation systems, so every new interaction adds excitement without multiplying production effort.
Solution
We delivered a refreshed interface, new intro and prize animations, Wicked Wickets and Zinger Power modes, configurable map zones and contingency mini-game concepts for cancelled live matches. A shared power-up character reduced the need for 16 separate animation variants.

Design System
Six & Shout evolved an existing KFC game rather than creating a completely new visual language.
The visual system stayed firmly within KFC’s brand language, using KFC Red, White and Black, bold display typography, strong imagery and raised game-style controls.
The work focused on evolving what was already working: refreshing the UI, extending gameplay with new modes and reward states, and finding reusable design and production solutions that could support more variation without multiplying asset production. That included configurable prize zones, a shared power-up character across player types, and contingency concepts for cancelled matches.
The design system brought those decisions together through reusable colour, typography, icon, button and game-state rules, giving design and development a consistent base as the experience expanded.
Build & Delivery
The refreshed experience shipped with a redesigned UI, new intro and prize animations, Wicked Wickets and Zinger Power modes, configurable map zones and a simplified power-up animation system. The app launched in November 2025.
