Client
Oyster Property Group is a New Zealand commercial property and fund manager, working across property investment, asset management, property management, development and leasing.
Problem
Oyster Property Group had outgrown its existing digital presence. The business was serving increasingly diverse audiences, from retail and wholesale investors to institutional partners, tenants and leasing agents, but the experience did not clearly connect those audiences to the information and actions most relevant to them.
Strategic framing
Get New Zealanders with disposable income who are looking for credible investment options to consider commercial property, by making Oyster’s expertise, offer and track record clear and easy to understand, so they can move confidently from consideration to enquiry and investment.
Solution
Rather than treating the project as a standalone website refresh, we reframed it around a more connected digital ecosystem designed to serve Oyster’s different audiences while strengthening its position as an authority in commercial property investment.
The website became the central experience connecting investment, property, content, search, CRM and ongoing customer engagement, with clearer audience pathways and a stronger structure supporting each journey.

Design System
We created a reusable design system for Oyster Property Group to bring consistency, accessibility and scalability across the digital experience.
The system brought together colour variables and accessible colour scales, typography, iconography, CTA patterns and reusable components across devices. Defining these foundations upfront created a consistent visual hierarchy and interaction language, while reducing the need to redesign common elements from page to page.
Reusable component states and shared styles also gave design and development a clearer common reference, making handoff more consistent and future pages, features and updates easier to extend and maintain.
UX Research & Design
We used research, stakeholder input and customer feedback to understand Oyster Property Group’s audiences, needs and points of friction.
Each stage informed the next: audits and research shaped the personas and customer journeys, those insights were prioritised into clear problems and How Might We questions, which then informed the information architecture and user flows. Usability testing helped validate and refine those decisions before they moved into the final experience.
The result was a clearer, more deliberate experience built around how people actually needed to use the site, with stronger pathways, less friction and a structure that could support Oyster Property Group’s different audiences as the digital ecosystem continued to grow.
